Earnest Washington, Jr. was named principal of Drew Academy in July 2007. Mr. Washington received his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering in 1985 and his master’s degree in educational administration in 2000 from Prairie View A&M University. He began his teaching career in Aldine ISD in 1996 as an engineering, graphics, drafting and design teacher at Carver High School. He became an assistant principal at Reed Academy in 2003. Mr. Washington became the principal at Drew Academy in 2007.
Dr. Cynthia Blair
Curriculum Assistant Principal
Dr. Cynthia Donatto-Blair was named assistant principal at Drew Academy in 2008 after serving as technology specialist at that same school. Dr. Blair received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University, a Master’s Degree in Occupational Education from the University of Houston and Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University. She also received a Doctor of Education with a concentration in Instructional Technology and Distance Education (ITDE) from Nova Southeastern University. She is certified as a principal. Her background also consist of teaching middle and high school courses in business and technology.

Gabriel Tellez was named assistant principal at Drew Academy in 2013. He received his master’s degree in Bilingual Education from Houston Baptist University and his principal certification from the RICE University Entrepreneurship Program. He came to Drew after serving as the Assistant Principal at Vines EC/PK Center in Aldine. He is also the current president for SHABE.
